Yukon to Ukraine Mission #1: February 2023

In February 2023, Jeff Sloychuk, Vita Kurylo, and Parviz Ahangi made UCAY’s inaugural trip to Ukraine. They delivered over 30 suitcases full of warm jackets, boots, thermal clothing, radios, laptops, tablets, cell phones, GPS units, power banks, medical equipment, and other needed supplies to the communities of Chortkiv, Buchach, and Yuzhnoukrains’k.

This was the first time that UCAY members met Dr. Serhii Lupov, hospital director, and Dr. Maksym Berezovvy, medical director, of the Yuzhnoukrains’k municipal hospital. Jeff, Vita, and Parviz were struck by the needs of this hospital, which was and still is not receiving any NGO assistance except what UCAY provides. In contrast, the passion and integrity of the doctors and other staff there was evident even in this first brief meeting.
